Rheinfall

Rhine Falls (15 minutes by car)

The Rhine Falls with its average discharge of approx. 600,000 litres per second is considered to be the largest waterfall in Europe. It can be reached easily from Benken by car, bicycle or even on foot. We recommend that you first take a look at the Rhine Falls from the southern side (i.e. from the Zurich side) near the castle Laufen, where you will be very impressed by the elemental power of the water, as you can almost touch the thundering floods and feel the vibrations in your stomach and the water dust in your hair.

On a short hike you can cross the Rhine River on both sides of the railway bridge. The Rhine Falls basin can thus be seen from the north side in its entirety.

If you feel like it, you can climb the rock in the middle of the Rhine Falls by a stairway, cross the Rhine or make a boat trip to Rheinau with one of the "Mändli" boats during the summer months.
For the brave there is an adventure and climbing park near the Rhine Falls .
